In our new series of articles we present you every month the finest and newest from the beautiful world of luxury. Our Luxury Highlight in December: The 14 Million Christmas Tree
If you want to recharge your batteries of vitamin D in December and not miss out on Christmas luxury, this year's best destination is Spain, the Costa del Sol. To be more precise, the fine town of Marbella has been home to the world's most expensive Christmas tree since 2019. The luxurious 5-star hotel "Kempinski Bahia Estepona" has reached deep into its pocket (or diamond box) to present its visitors with a Christmas experience of the extra class.
The deluxe Christmas tree was designed by British haute couture designer Debbie Wingham and is decorated with Christmas decorations worth around 14 million euros. The designer was inspired by the modernist Art Deco era. It is therefore not surprising that the lavishly decorated tree also features martini glasses, peacock feathers, ostrich eggs, diamond dust and perfume bottles.
Only the best materials and fabrics were used, such as diamonds in various colours, sapphires or 24 carat gold cut by the world's most renowned jewellers. Jewellery from world-famous luxury houses such as Chanel, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arples or Bulgari also adorns the Christmas tree in the impressive hotel lobby.
But the reason for the extravagant tree is not only Christmas: The Spanish luxury hotel is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019 and is making it sparkle for this purpose.
